FAILED CITY
FINANCES. HEAR AUDITOR TRENT WILLIAMS MANY
EXCUSES. Trent has been one of the major causes of the City
financial crisis.
Greedy
ex-Mayor Jim Kalb is the
other major cause.
Both
men failed to show reasonable common sense in city finances and
have continually
begged for repeated pay raises and new luxury
autos for their personal use.
Trent is now
proudly driving a new luxury SUV that he just
purchased with City Funds.
You
may view the new auto parked in the Auditor’s parking space behind
City Hall
during working hours. Trent’s annual pay has
increased by Twelve Thousand Dollars in
the past three years. For the past two years Kalb
and Trent sneaked their pay raises
through by hiding them in in the City Budget
ordinance To get these
illegal acts past
the City Solicitor they also wrote Solicitor Mike Jones into the
budget for similar raises
in his pay. Kalb is gone from the city scene; Trent Williams must
go, too.

Williams has financially prospered greatly during the ten years he
has served as City Auditor and his girth has increased considerably,
but his competency has shown no growth. Written

During Council Meeting 6:00 P.M. Monday, December 14, 2009 at
City Hall, Auditor Trent Williams admitted the
City is over a half a
million dollars short in funds to pay current
expenditures.
Auditor Trent Williams encouraged excessive
spending during the
year, especially urging passage of the 2009 budget that improperly
included illegal pay raises for City Solicitor Mike Jones, Mayor Jim Kalb and himself, Auditor Trent Williams.

During
Council Meeting Monday, 12 January 2009
Citizens
were critical of plans to place additional
$900,000
annual income tax on people of Portsmouth.
Both
Mayor Jim Kalb and Auditor Trent Williams
refused
to give any plans on what they intend to
do with
the money. Citizens
also objected to more pay
raises
for Solicitor Mike Jones, Mayor Jim Kalb and
Auditor
Trent Williams. All of
these three offices have
had very
substantial raises twice during past two years.

This is January, but no
warm air heating system is needed in
Council Chambers
when Trent Williams is speaking.
Auditor
Trent Williams bloviated with hot air at great
length
with flim-flam talk and much arm waving about
the city
finances, but with no solid
answers, no substance.
Trent Williams receives big praise.
After
the business of council was finished and all
others
were ready for dismissal, Auditor Williams then
talked
another seven minutes with words mostly of
self
praise. Auditor Trent
Williams denied that he was
devious.
Mayor
Jim Kalb, displeased with what citizens had said,
suggested denying citizens their Constitutional rights to
speak on
items not on the agenda.
Both unmannerly
Jim Kalb
and Fourth Ward Councilman Jerrold Albrecht
rudely
interrupted citizens while they were lawfully
speaking.
Council
President David Malone presided over a very
orderly
meeting despite the crude unruly interruptions of
Kalb and
Albrecht.
Malone’s leadership as
Council
President is a refreshing change from the despotic
manner
of the deposed previous president, the corpulent
Howard Baughman who
left office when faced with a
recall election
initiated by damaged and disgusted citizens
who had been damaged
repeatedly for over ten years by sewers backflowing into their
homes. Baughman had lied to citizens
for ten years by
promising he would take care of the damaging,
insufficient
sewers, but he did nothing.

I got a lot of material from City Auditor
William D. Morrissey who's
been the auditor in Chillicothe for 23
years and has a jam up shop.
I will copy some pages for limited
distribution to the candidates, etc.
like the inventory lists he puts out and
the bids sheets.
You’ve never seen that before in Portsmouth I
bet. And the monthly
print outs, the reports he makes available displayed on tables in the
hallway for the public, the annual report for the public and the 10 year reports,
and more. All free to the public.
Trent Williams seems to be the road block, log
jam.......for transparency, the buck stops at least there in the Portsmouth
Auditor's office.

Our current auditor is the same one that signed the
check on the Martings swindle.
At one council meeting when the Mayor was explaining
to the citizens that the
Martings foundation had already returned $200,000.00 and he
had no clue as to where it went, he then asked Auditor Trent Williams and Trent
answered that he also had no clue.
Several months later the council granted the same
auditor and our hard working
part time Solicitor $10,000.00 pay raises. Now after
some controversy the Solicitor
stated he was going to return half of his
raise.
What
about the auditor you ask? No. No. No. Our boy came back
asking for more money. Can you believe that? Now remember the Mayor Jim
Kalb?
It is about this time that the council is in heated debate
over the budget ; well, our Mayor Jim chimes in and wants a $5000.00 plus pay
raise. He was denied .the raise and the new car he wanted. (sorry I forgot that part} .
Now as to the budget the Mayor says we’re only short about $300,000.00 but
our auditor states it could be as much as $800,000.00 short.
DOES ALL THIS KIND OF BOGGLE YOUR
MIND???
If I could find a good scriptwriter this would make a
great sitcom. All
