COMMAND MASTER CHIEF (SCW)

Command Master
Chief Leedom reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR in
May 2008, following his
assignment at the Center for Personal and Professional Development,
Yokosuka, Japan.
He joined the
United States Navy in 1981, completed Recruit Training in Great
Lakes, Illinois and “A” school in Gulfport,
Mississippi.
His extensive list of duty stations
started in Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Forty,
Port Hueneme, California as a Steelworker in
the Bravo Company Shop.
Next he was assigned to the Thirty-First
Naval Construction Regiment; his jobs included: LPO for Weapons and
Combat Skills, Ammunition Technician and
CPO/Officers Combat Skills Course Instructor.
He deployed with COMCBPAC FORWARD
in August of 1990 to Saudi Arabia and was
selected to Chief Petty Officer in 1991. He went back to NMCB
Forty and in 1992 deployed to Operation
“Restore Hope” in the war torn country of Somalia.
In 1994 he
reported to Naval Education & Training
Program Management Support Activity as an Enlisted Advancement
Examination Writer. He reported to NMCB Four in
1997 and for the next six years deployed numerous times
and was assigned a myriad of duties to
include the Training Chief, Air Det Chief, Quality Control Chief,
Operations Chief and Company Chief.
In 2002, he
transferred to NAVSEA Headquarters, and was employed
as an Inspector and Investigator in the
Office of the Inspector General.
Command Master
Chief’s decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy
and Marine Corps
Commendation
Medal (fourth award), one Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal,
Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, five Battle E Ribbons, and
the Expert Pistol and Rifle Medals.
